Busy Working Mums - Ten Top Eating Habits to Boost Your Energy at Home and at Work

You are a busy woman. You have a family to care for, work commitments to meet, girl-friends to share news with and catch-up on, domestic chores to do, shopping and bills to pay. In the midst of all of this, you need to find the energy to take time to care for and nurture yourself!

When life is so busy, what can you do to ensure you have enough energy left for yourself?

The foods you eat are the biggest factor affecting your energy levels. Have you ever eaten a heavy stodgy meal and felt tired and sleepy afterwards?

To feel alive and to give your best to yourself and your family, it is essential you eat foods which nurture and nourish your core.

Given the vast array of information available today about healthy eating, it can be quite confusing to know what diet to follow, what foods to eat, when and how.

As a busy mother with three teenage daughters plus running my own yoga business, over the years I have tried different types of diets and food fads in an attempt to find healthy, quick nutritious meals to prepare. Like you, I want my family to eat well and have energy to do the activities they enjoy.

If you are looking for a way to ensure your family eat well, try to include as many as possible of the following top ten healthy eating habits. They will encourage you to stay energised and happy during your busy day.

1.Make time to eat and to regularly

2.Prepare your food with love and patience

3. Eat at least 3 types of different coloured foods in your main meal

4. Chew each portion of food at least 10 times

5. Listen to your body. Ask her whether she really wants this piece of food and if so, what difference will it make to your energy and moods.

6. To sit down and eat your food. As opposed to walking, driving, rushing round from A 2 B and eating at the same time

7. Eat more natural, whole, raw and live foods in your overall daily diet

8. Look at the colours of foods you buy and buy a wider variety of coloured fruits and vegetables.

9. Have more meal times with friends and family

10. Drink more water

11. To breathe and stretch on a daily basis.
